De Montfort University and Highcross are teaming up to showcase the city’s top budding designers during Spring fashion weekend.
Students and graduates from BA (Hons) Fashion Design and BA (Hons) Contour Fashion will exhibit their clothing and lingerie designs on static models on Friday 8 April.
Among the students showcasing their work will be third-year Fashion Design student Shavani Chavda, who won this year’s Clothes Show Live "Designer of the Year" competition with her hand-illustrated fabric prints.
Laura Carew-Gibson, winner of the "Fashion Awareness Direct" competition at London Fashion Week, will feature her Los Angeles-inspired pieces.
First-class Contour Fashion graduate Penny Newton, who won the Christopherson Award for "Design Innovation", will showcase her white body-con pieces. Sophie Anderton modelled one of Penny's styles last year and her collection is currently showing at the Houses of Parliament.
You can find the showcase on the Lower Mall near Debenhams.
